HAIR LOSS
As well as carrying out a large number of cosmetic semi-permanent makeup procedures, we also have significant experience with medical tattooing for those of our clients who have experienced hair loss from conditions such as alopecia, or for those undergoing chemotherapy, or who have suffered health problems which have led to hair loss. If an illness has caused the loss of eyebrows or eyelashes, we are able to use a method of pigment implantation to give you back those features to feel like you again.
Just like semi-permanent makeup, the process involves medical grade pigment being implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin. This results in beautiful eyebrows or eyeliner that is completely natural and fitting to your face. We are also able to offer our clients scalp micropigmentation which is a non-surgical treatment to simulate hair stubble, or in some cases to create a higher optical density of hair on the scalp.
Our approach to the treatment will depend on your condition, your stage of hair loss and your general expectations. During your free consultation with experienced, award-winning, semi-permanent makeup artist Ros, your expectations will be discussed in detail. Ros will explain the different options available to you, depending on what treatment you are having. Colours will also be discussed with you. We will never give you a look that is fashionable or on-trend. Any treatment you have should suit the contours of your face and be tailored to your specific situation so the end result is effortlessly natural.
The results can last up to 2 years and the price will include a top up within the first 3 months.Colour boosts are recommended on a yearly basis to keep your treatment looking fresh.
Step 1. The consultation. Firstly, we will discuss in detail the procedure/s you wish to undergo. We treat every client individually, taking their features into consideration so the end result is totally natural and fits the facial structure and skin tone. There is no obligation to go through with the treatment following a consultation and we will never rush you into anything you are not 100% comfortable or happy with.
Step 2. The patch test. Your safety is important to us. As such, a patch test is required on the treatment area prior to the procedure being carried out. This is to assess whether you have any allergic reactions to the pigments, although this is extremely rare. The patch test is carried out during the initial consultation.
Step 3. The treatment. The treatment time varies depending on the procedure. However, the average time is approximately 2 hours. This includes the initial phase where the makeup is drawn on for you to agree the shape and colouring before commencing with the treatment. Time is dedicated to deciding on the shape and colour of your semi-permanent makeup to ensure an outcome you are happy with. We also apply a high-grade topical anesthetic prior to the treatment being carried out, as our client’s comfort is very important to us.
Step 4. Aftercare. At the end of the treatment, we will explain how to look after the treated area and you will take home aftercare instructions. You will also be given a small sample of aftercare products to use as instructed, as this will be necessary to ensure the original pigment does not fade too quickly.
Step 5. Follow up. Come back in 6 weeks for a follow up.
